August 2011 — Family of the Month
The Leo R. Schleicher Family
Leo Schleicher joined the Knights of Columbus on May 1, 1998 at the age of 69. From the very start, he attended most meetings and served as Council Guard for many years. He participated very actively in most events, especially for kitchen duty at our meal functions. He actively recruited three of his sons: Paul Schleicher of Norton, Kevin Schleicher of Norton, and Leo Schleicher of Raynham. He also recruited several other members from Norton, most recently Edward Beatty who joined us on April 26, 2011.
On June 9th 2011, he and his wife Anne celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, having raised 10 children. They now have 30 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren! They served as great role models of family life to all those who knew them.
Leo and Anne are also actively involved with their parish ministries. They have served, and are still serving, as RCIA ministers to new parishioners. They are both members of St. Mary's St. Vincent DePaul Society, helping the needy families of Norton. Leo works at St. Mary's bingo every Friday evening. Leo and Anne usually attend daily Masses at St. Mary's Church. Leo and Anne attend all of their family birthdays, Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, graduations, and family reunions. They just keep going!
Our congratulations to Leo and Anne Schleicher on their 60th wedding anniversary! You are great models of true family life.
